P3 Visit Irwin's Bakery
On Tuesday 4th April children from P3 visited Irwin’s Bakery. They have been learning about bread as part of their WAU Food topic so this was a great opportunity to see how bread is made.
As they toured the factory they were given an overview of bakery operations and they watched the making of the famous Nutty Crust loaf and tasty muffins.
They learned that the business has grown from its days of horse and cart delivery to now exporting branded products across the UK and Ireland with major supermarkets.
Best of all they received a goody bag so they could taste the muffins and Nutty Crust at home.
