Mental Health Awareness Week
Throughout the week, our school community came together to mark Mental Health Awareness Week, taking part in a wide range of meaningful and engaging activities across all classes.
The week began with a special assembly led by our School Council, who spoke about the importance of looking after our mental health. They shared helpful tips and strategies that everyone can use in their everyday lives, encouraging us all to take time to care for ourselves and support others. At the end of the assembly, they distributed positive affirmations to all pupils and staff, helping to spread uplifting messages throughout the school.
Across the week, each class explored the theme further through creative lessons, discussions, and well-being activities, promoting kindness, resilience, and positive thinking.
The week concluded on Friday with our ‘Wear it Green’ Day, where pupils and staff proudly wore green to show their support and raise awareness. In addition, our Eco Committee led a wonderful Walking Bus to school, encouraging everyone to start their day with exercise, fresh air, and the opportunity to walk and talk with friends — a great way to clear our minds and support our well-being.
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone for their participation, positivity, and support throughout the week. It truly highlighted the caring and inclusive spirit of our school community.
A special word of thanks goes to Mrs Leeanne Carey of Changing Lives NI, whose generosity, thoughtfulness, and kindness made the week even more memorable. Mrs Carey very kindly gifted every child in our school a goodie bag containing a sticker, a notebook and pen with positive affirmations, and a bubble tube.
Gestures like these make a real difference, spreading joy and reinforcing important messages of positivity and self-belief among our pupils.
Thank you once again to everyone who helped make Mental Health Awareness Week such a success.
