This evening, our school choir had the privilege of performing at the Peace Proms concert in the SSE Arena, Belfast, and what an incredible experience it was! From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was electric, and the excitement among the pupils was truly contagious.
Our choir joined the Cross Border Orchestra and a massed choir of over 4,000 schoolchildren from across Ireland, coming together to create a spectacular celebration of music, unity and peace. Singing alongside so many young voices in such an iconic venue was both inspiring and unforgettable for everyone involved.
The professionalism of the orchestra, the energy of the performances and the sheer scale of the event made this a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for our pupils. It was wonderful to see their confidence, teamwork and musical talents shine.
We are extremely proud of our choir members for their dedication and enthusiasm throughout rehearsals and their performance. A huge thank you to Mrs Power and Miss Lennon for their hard work and dedication in preparing the children. Thank you also to Mrs Hill for organising the bus and administrative work, and to the staff who accompanied us as chaperones — we are very grateful to them for giving up their time at the weekend. Events like Peace Proms remind us of the power of music to bring people together across communities and borders.
A huge thank you to the organisers, staff and families for their support in making this amazing day possible. It is an experience our pupils will remember for many years to come!
