Child Pedestrian Safety Training Scheme 2026

22nd Jun 2026

Congratulations to all the pupils in Primary Three, Four & Five who successfully completed the DOE Stage One Two & Three Practical Child Pedestrian Safety Training Scheme today.

As part of their training, the children took part in practical, real-life learning experiences around the local area. They demonstrated excellent awareness as they identified, discussed and safely negotiated a range of road safety situations.

Our Primary One and Primary Two pupils also joined the walk, benefiting from observing the older children and beginning to develop their own understanding of road safety in a familiar environment.

We would like to extend a sincere thank you to Mr King for organising and leading the programme so effectively. His guidance and commitment ensured that all pupils gained valuable knowledge and practical skills in staying safe near roads.

The Primary Six pupils also joined Mrs Brennan's class for their walk and we would like to thank Mr McParland and Mrs Brennan for leading their part of the programme so enthusiastically and ensuring that all pupils had a safe and enjoyable learning experience.

We are extremely proud of all the children for their enthusiasm, sensible behaviour and positive attitude throughout the scheme. We hope they will continue to apply these important life skills whenever they are out and about, helping to keep themselves and others safe.
