First Holy Communion 2026

Huge congratulations to our P4 children on receiving the Sacrament of First Holy Communion today (Saturday 9th May 2026) in St Patrick & St Colman’s Church, Laurencetown.

The children were reverent and respectful throughout the service and certainly did their parents, families, teachers, and indeed our whole school and parish community proud. Well done, boys and girls—we hope you enjoyed your very special day!

Sincere thanks to Fr Loughran for joining us for this special occasion. We are truly grateful that he took time out from his sick leave to be with us and help us celebrate such a beautiful ceremony. We wish him well for the remainder of his recovery and keep him in our thoughts and prayers as he continues to regain his health.

Many thanks also to our staff for their help in preparing the church. A special word of thanks to Mr King for his hard work and meticulous planning in preparing the children.

We are very grateful to our school choir, under the direction of Mrs Power and Miss Lennon, for their beautiful singing, and to Mrs Brennan for the lovely musical accompaniment.

Finally, thank you to Mrs Jane Teggart for providing personalised cupcakes for all the First Communicants and a big thanks also to those staff members who helped serve tea and refreshments back at the school afterwards—we are truly thankful, and your support is deeply appreciated.
