P.1 & P.2/3 STEM Workshop
P.1 & P.2/3 pupils had a visit from Sarah from Sentinus today. The focus of the workshop was exploring STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics).
During the workshop, pupils learned about how houses are made by using different materials. They got to dress like a builder by wearing a hi-viz vest. They discovered that houses need a foundation, walls and roof.
There was lots of experimentation using the materials that the 3 pigs made when building their houses. They used straws and playdoh, wooden clothes pegs and lolly sticks as well as Lego bricks. They agreed that bricks were best at keeping the houses strong and secure.
Everyone really enjoyed the workshop and we would like to extend our sincere thanks to Sarah for providing such an informative session today.
During play based learning back in class, both P.1 & P.2/3 continued their learning and experimenting using the toys and materials from their classrooms.
Well done boys and girls!
